Glossary

Do we need to include terms like stud and broodmare? Those are really basic but it's possible that some players will not have encountered those terms.

This table, this graphic, need to be edited and combined into an alphabetized, more readable format. 

Speld: an obsolete term some players have used to refer to altered (gelded or spayed) horses. While you may find older references to this term, it should not be used in any instance. Please use the words gelded, spayed, or altered when referring to horses that are not intact. 

Intact: a horse that has not been altered and is still capable of producing foals. 

Altered: any horse that has been gelded or spayed (sometimes also referred to as snipped).

Snip (snipping): an alternate term for the act of altering, gelding, or spaying a horse. Also, snipped - the horse's condition of having been altered.

RS -rank special – Daily Herd Helpers are ranked by rarity, the higher the rank, the more rare the color/trait will be.  Rank specials are those herd helpers that are released periodically to acknowledge special events throughout the year.

Hom – Homozygous – the horse will have 2 of the same type of genes, one from each parent

Het – Heterozygous – the horse will have one out of 2 available genes

GMT - Gene Mod Treatment

IV - Investment Vouchers- Investment Vouchers can be purchased using Hbs (Hajinc bucks aka game money).  Each IV is worth 12,500 hbs.  IVs are used to purchase certain game features such as barns and Tack Packs, and can be used to purchase a basic upgrade, as well. 

PT – Performance Test – a test members can use to gauge the training/showing ability of their horses.

AFPT – Average Foal Performance Test (results) – the average of a sire, or dam’s foal PT scores from all LIVING and PT TESTED foal.  Available to upgraded members. non-upgraded members can compute these manually by adding the PT scores of all living, tested foals and dividing by the number of foals.

PF – Perfect Foundation – the horse will have the highest possible Performance Test (PT) score available for a foundation horse AND will have the best possible breeding ability available for a foundation horse.  These horses will have PT scores of 9.9, 100% breeding ability--the top C/Yellow score, and will be perfectly consistent in the show ring each week.

 

Ex Perf – (variations: ExPer, XPerf, XPer) - Exceptionally Perfect – the horse will have a PT and breeding score approximately 5% better than a perfect foundation. these horses will also be perfectly consistent in their weekly scores in the show ring.

 

Ex Pro – (variations:  XPro) - Exceptional Producer – the horse will have a breeding score approximately 5% better than a perfect foundation. 

 

XP - experience points. These points accumulate every time you breed or create horses. However, if you sell a horse back to the game, or in the auction, then you LOSE XPs. After you get a designated number of XPs then you get an extra stall in your primary barn.  Progress toward the next stall can be viewed as a line graph on your stable home page. 

LB - leaderboard - Horses are ranked by different criteria (top producing stallion/mare, top points earned by a foundation horse, etc) Awards are given out on the 28th of each month for the top 10 horses in each category. These can be found under Community/Breeders Clubs.

 

GMT - Gene Modification Treatment - you can buy tokens for individual treatments using hbs or real money.  Some treatments cost more GMTs to produce results than others. 

 

DHH – (variation:  Herd Helper, HH) – Available to each player, changes on a 24 hour basis.  HHs that are based only on color or a combination of colors does NOT guarantee the quality of the horse.  HHs that indicate otherwise in the description can include exceptional abilities or traits.  

TNP - Top Notch Producer – the horse will have the top breeding ability available. 


LE = Limited Edition (genes) - these genes will not be randomly included on new (foundation) create horses. They can be purchased in the GMT lab, and added to a horse, and from that point on they will be inheritable. 

 

WB- Warmblood- defined in the game as a medium boned horse over 14.2 hands tall

SP-Sport Pony – defined in the game as a medium boned horse under 14.2 hands tall

RP-Riding Pony –defined in the game as a light boned horse under 14.2 hands tall

RH-Riding Horse – defined in the game as a light boned horse over 14.2 hands tall

Cob – defined in the game as a heavy boned horse under 14.2 hands tall

Draft – defined in the game as a heavy boned horse over 14.2 hands tall

Collectible - defined in the game as any bone weight horse under ___ hands tall

SF-(variations: SNF) - Snowflake – gene that causes small white spots across the body that increase in size as the horse ages.  Requires LP gene to be visible.  

Tack Packs – Groups of different enhancements for your horses picture.  Tack packs are purchased using IVs, in the Upgrades and Extras section.  

Backgrounds – various backgrounds are available for your horses picture, and can be found on the Tack tab on that horses page. 

Tack – equipment worn and used by the horse (appears in the individual horses picture).  There are a variety of tack items available on the Tack tab on the horses page. Additional items are available for purchase via special Tack Packs.

Tattoos – Also called somatic tattoos – colorful “brands” that can be placed on a horse or on part of the horses picture for identification purposes.  Somatic tattoos allow for colors as opposed to standard brands.
